Exploring the Night Sky Tuesday September 10 & 24 October 8, 15 & 29 November 5 & 19, 2013 7PM at the Galax Recreation Center - 3rd Floor Learn to identify the constellations, stars, planets and other wonders visible to the naked eye. Speaker:  Steve Nichols of the Echo Ridge Astronomical Society Cost: Free ( no equipment required )
Astronomy day for 2013 was held at the Walmart in Galax, Va. An exceptional number of people stopped to observe the sun through a pair of Coronado PST scopes followed by observing the moon, Jupiter and Saturn. A few children also received their first telescope observing certificate.
